Au Vol. 8: National Parks

In the 100 years the National Park Service has been in existence, they’ve created 58 parks as well as 82 national monuments, providing a place for both recreation and conservation. In this homage to one of our greatest national resources, we explore the magnificent National Park system, which enables some truly spectacular and unique interactions between visitors and nature. Each park has it’s own story, and our photographers embrace them all, from icy glaciers in Alaska to fiery volcanoes in Hawaii.

We *heart* New Photographers!

Our photographers are our backbone and our lifeblood. Without their hard work and dedication to their craft, there’d be no Aurora Photos. On a selfish note, I’d be out of the best job I’ve ever had: looking at fantastic imagery from around the globe and collaborating with passionate photographers to create imagery that often leaves me amazed.

We’re always on the look-out for potential new contributors to add to our community, like those who have a fresh approach, or international photographers to further expand on our global collection. Below are some of the handpicked photographers who have started contributing in 2015, and you can click the link to see even more curated imagery! – Larry Westler, Content Director

New Images for October

The end of summer / beginning of autumn is always a beautiful and exciting time to be outdoors, as the weather and colors start to change. The variety of outdoor activities is great at this time as well. You can do yoga on the beach, nap in a hammock with your dog, watch the sunrise over a canyon with a little chill in the morning air, sail, enjoy some watermelon the best way possible (getting delicious juice all over yourself) or harvest the end of season fruits and vegetables. You can fly fish, go running, have a last river tubing adventure of the season, watch lightning storms in awe, mountain bike, hike to the top of a mountain peak for an expansive view or just check out some foliage. Or, maybe you’re gearing up for your winter adventures on the slopes or planning trips to Cuba or Myanmar.

All that, and an underwater skateboarder, can be seen in our new images for October gallery: http://www.auroraphotos.com/result?webseries_id=14734
