A few weeks ago, Aurora photographer Andrew Peacock gained international attention for his documentation of the Russian research vessel M.V. Akademik Shokalskiy trapped in Antarctic ice. Of this recent event, Andrew says, “For that slow news period between Christmas and New Year it’s likely that I was the most published photographer in the world in both the press and web news sites. It was all a bit surreal given that I was stuck on a ship at the bottom of the world.” A few days ago, PetaPixel published an interview with Andrew, spurred by the photos taken on this trip.
Andrew discusses his career as a doctor, his first experiences with photography, and his world travels. He also speaks fondly of his friend and fellow-photographer, Aurora’s Corey Rich.
