Aurora photographer Svetlana Bachevanova was chosen to be a part of the 'Rising Waters: Photographs of Hurricane Sandy' exhibit. A collaboration between the Museum of New York and the International Center of Photography, the exhibit is in time for the event's one-year anniversary and calls for reflection on the devastation and recovery efforts. Out of the 7,000 entries submitted for consideration, Bachevanova's photograph (above) was one of only 100 photographs chosen for display. In this image, Bachevanova captures the rubble from the storm against a somber sky.
The exhibition opened on August 24th on Governor's Island in New York and will be on view until September 29th.
