Aurora Select photographer John Lee captures the leaders of San Francisco’s green movement for the annual “Green Issue” of 7×7 Magazine. Among these forerunners are a 16-year-old girl who is leading the charge for teens to start using environmentally conscious makeup and a senior vice president for Safeway supermarkets who has instituted alternative fuels for the company’s delivery trucks, solar panels on store rooftops, and the use of wind energy. John’s main challenge in the photo shoot, he says, was location scouting for each of the portraits. “Despite California’s reputation as a very natural place, it can sometimes be very hard to find a natural location for shoots. Although the subjects had limited time, after a little searching, beautiful California did not disappoint in providing the perfect backdrops just outside the busy city.”
