Aurora Photos is proud to announce the latest U.S. Postal Service stamp, released this month, of Okefenokee Swamp was photographed by Aurora photographer, Jose Azel. This from the U.S Postal Service:
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Postal Service issued the Okefenokee Swamp, Georgia/Florida 69-cent International Canada and Mexico letter rate stamp today. The stamp features a photograph of a pond in the Okefenokee Swamp, taken by José Azel of Lovell, Maine. Text on the stamp reads, “Okefenokee Swamp, Georgia/Florida.” Available nationwide today, the self-adhesive stamp is available in panes of 20.

Paula Lerner was awarded Second Prize in Px3, the Prix de la Photographie Paris competition in the photojournalism category for her entry ” Kabul: Five Years After The Taliban.”. The jury selected 2007’s winners from thousands of photography entries from over 85 countries.
Winning entries from each major category (Advertising, Photojournalism, Book, Fine Art, Nature, and Portraiture) are exhibited in Paris at the prestigious 13Sévigné Gallery in June/July 2007 and published in the high-quality, full-color Px3 Annual Book, which is distributed to galleries, agencies, publishers and bookstores worldwide. The above image, “Muddy Kabul Street”, was chosen by New York gallery owner Brian Clamp for the Griffin Museum of Photography to be included in the 13th Juried Exhibition.
This image was also honored by American Photography to be displayed on their website; it was one of only 156 images from 8,000 submitted to receive at least 2 votes and is therefore will be permanently on disTRIBUTE their web gallery at ai-ap.com.
